Currently back in Saigon, 5pic update from the island of Phu Quoc the what was Suppose to be relaxing end to the trip, which it was, once I got over the missing wallet annoyance/anger, then I Finally got hit with the "Travellers" bug, and well, the last 5days has been challenging, but as the photos kinda indicate, well worth it ;) Now, if my camera hadn't got wrecked during the Songkran, those photos would be of a good resolution, but alas... they're not, haha what else could possibly go wrong... wait, don't answer that, I'm not on Canadian soil yet!! (Did I mention my car has been hit in Canada while I was gone??, can't remember.....) cheeeeeers see'z ya SoooN

The guesthouse guy is also a ManU fan, so we'll be heading into town (someplace in Market, I think is how he put it). Should be fun. Dived today, and didn't drown, which is good, as there is a Third bad thing now waiting for me. Found out today that my car got hit in Calgary.... 2 Down 1 to Go Cheers for now, not sure I'll be able to upload anything between now and home time no Internet cafe close by, so I have to tredge along the sandy beach a good K ;)

Feels like it's been Go Go Go and I Finally wanna do NOTHING for a couple days this has been a Fantastic Trip so far, kinda stuck in Saigon, as we couldn't get a flight to Phu Quac till 6:20am (which means we have to get up at 4:30 by the way). Feels like a wasted day in Saigon, but we've made the best, Traffice is truelly biZZaRe, I don't think I've EVER just watched and literally Chuckled before, well, when watching traffic I mean... I'm now sitting in a hotel "cafe and bar", but it feels like someones living room, as a girl is helping a boy with his homework... and I'm sitting on a couch, next to a tv and home stereo, lol. Had my first LeGiTe Vietnamese Vermacelli (spelling) tonight, was cool, except that I was literally Sitting on the STreet HAHA pics to follow SoOOOOOn Beach, here we ComE !!! cheers!!

Subject: Let's Talk Hot Food Hello All, I tried to send an email a couple days ago but I couldn't send anything. (for you geeks, IE would crash on popups so I couldn't open a send) First let me catch you up on what's happened. We flew from Bangkok on the second day and by lunch we were heading north out of Chang Mai (a city in northern Thialand) on 2 bikes. One is a big dirt bike with street tires (known as a motard to bike guys) and the other is a bike I fell in love with - a VFR 400 from Japan that they don't sell to North Americans. It's likely the most fun bike I've ever ridden. It cool, cool, cool, has an engine that revs to the moon, it's light, moderately uncomfortable, has a roasting hot seat and handles spectacularly. It put big smiles on both our faces. We're going to see if we can import a couple to Calgary. When I found out it was going to be 35 to 40C just before we came (nope, I wasn't smart enough to look beforehand) I asked...

As I have no camera, photos will be scarce, because the video camera doesn't take great photos. I take some, but... The 3 or whatever hours of video to edit should be fun, but that will probably have to wait till I get back. Pictures are misc through Angkor, the video was me following a monk into the gate (I thought it would add effect; he probably was thinking, what the beeeep is this guy following me for, oh wait, monks can't think 'beep' words..lol) I've sent Bill off to Angkor for Day two, I'm going to look around Siam Reap, couple museum etc, if I can get motivated, this is the first day of rest I've had, lol.

WELL can't say I'd suggest video tape a border crossing any time soon.... Even AFTER I was through the 'govt' stuff, I don't think the Police would take much of a liking too SO needless to say, the tape I did get, is really just sound, as it was aimed either at my chest, or a wall, or, ahhhh NOT anywhere someone might even suspect there being filmed.... I was SO nervous I forgot my knapsack (DEVON knapsack at that) on this chair, so just before I got to the front of the line, RUN back to get it.... which, in hindsight, is kinda funny, cause that is the ONLY 3second video clip that is comprehensible From there, we negotiate a taxi, and I don't even notice the police closing in on our car, something I Knew was going to happen, just not so quickly that too is something I wanted on tape, and you can actually see the guy approaching the car, but once I realize who it is, and the look on his face the camera is QUICKLY pointed elsewhere.... ahhh Poi Pet, the Cambodian ...

Video: we just filled up with gas and were leaving, I've been trying to think of a way to video one of us getting DouSed with water, without wrecking the video camara. This worked out well, except that, well, I had to go past them after "this" Needless to say, I was wet. From old to young, from morning till night, small town big town NO Freaken Town you get hit with water... brutal... 40degrees out, and you're cold on the bike hahaha It's finally over, and I may have ONLY lost my camera... somehow it escaped the ziplock bag, and um, well, was wet...

well, we've made it back to Bangkok good thing they don't rely on me, or the plane woulda ran outta gas or something.. All in the name of Adventure In like 4 hours we'll be heading to the Cambodian border, should be interesting Songkran festival was as fun as I remembered, and wetter Really how many times can you get hit in the face with water some with ice/some water, you probably don't want to know where they got it from. I did have to chuckle, before the Songkran Festival Bill didn't want to drink/eat the ice, and I laughed knowing he'd be spitting sewage water outt'of his mouth in a matter of days... okok, not Sewage, mot, or umm water from, well Somewhere.... Needless to say.... he's 'drinking' the ice now....

this has been a Bizarre trip any and everything has gone wrong, which has made it Incredibly Right.... I've been thinking about the Titles for the sections, and its changed a dozen times... 1. "How do you say I'm an Idiot and ran out of gas, in Thai" (when you're sitting atop a mountain in the middle of nowhere....) 2. "Yes I know everything is closed for the Songkran festival, but I have flat tire" 3. "Wow, that is a big spider....." and on and on it goes.... has been a good trip so far, and when I have A)more time, and B)good connection will upload some more PICTURES :) this trip has been 'coined' the Rob Lies trip I don't think I've told Bill ONE thing that has been right a) I'm sunburnt (from Bangkok) (I have NEVER seen a blue sky there b4) b) its 30+ degrees, and I'm cold c) there are not bugs/mosquitos in thailand.... (I'm half right on that one, but the Facking BugS d) it's always cloudy in North Thailand...

HAha Day 1 Complete and I still have my wallet Goal One already accomplished!! Good thing I Didn't have, our party to "stay out of hospital" as a goal, cause Bill woulda blown that on in the first day.... No NO nothing Serious, (I told him not to eat it.... ***JUST KIDDING***) But I'll let HIM tell HIS hospital story, lol. Travel Here was good, got the emergency row, Bill slept on the floor, was pretty funny. Did a canel tour, Grand Palace, two things I havent done here, but didn't get to a couple things I wanted to, oh well At Least I've updated this, photos too!! Will post later, as its 2:36am and I should be sleeping, lol Off to a night market I am (BIll's sleeping, lol) later!!!
